Registered Massage Therapist
Originally From: Nova Scotia
Janet is originally from Nova Scotia. She moved to Fort McMurray in 2009 after completing her BA in psychology.
After a few years of working with autistic children, brain injury clients, and watching close friends and family members with severe chronic pain and illnesses, her passion for learning more about the body began to grow.
Janet completed 2200 hours with Alberta College of massage therapy in 2016 with high honours. Continued education learning since graduating includes: Gary Switzers deep tissue massage therapy techniques, prenatal massage, meridian massage and acupressure, applied reflexology for massage therapy, and yoga teacher certification.
A massage therapy session with Janet may include myofasical release, Swedish techniques, trigger point release, deep tissue techniques, and some assisted stretching, based upon the clients comfort level, orthopaedic assessment, and intuition.
Janet’s approach is very wholistic, taking into consideration the mind body soul connection to restore proper movement patterns and to decrease/eliminate muscular dysfunction.
