New to Acupuncture

If you have never received Acupuncture before or "it's been a while" here are some great tips to get the most our of your Acupuncture Treatment

Prep Before

  • Avoid the consumption of alcohol
  • Avoid heavy consumption of caffeine 
  • Avoid marijuana use
  • Avoid taking pain medications or muscle relaxants prior to your appointment
  • check
    Shower before your appointment if you have undergone a heavy workout prior
  • check
    Eat a light snack prior to your appointment, make sure your blood sugar is level 
  • check
    Wipe off make-up
  • check
    Wash off heavy cologne's or perfumes. Our clinic is scent-free.
  • check
    Bring your employer health insurance card

Arriving

  • check
    If it's your first time, arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time
  • check
    Let the receptionist know this is your first time at our clinic, you will need to fill out a client case history form
  • check
    Give the receptionist your employer health insurance card prior to going in for your appointment
  • check
    Arrive earlier enough to have a drink of water and use the washroom prior to your appointment 

During your Acupuncture Treatment

  • check
    If something is uncomfortable, please let your acupuncturist know immediately
  • check
    Different people need different adjustments of needles based on their bodies. If you feel a burning or sharp sensation let your Acupuncturist know

After

  • check
    Drink plenty of water. This helps flush toxins that have been released
  • check
    Soak in a warm bath with epsom salts
  • check
    Re-Book! - Our Acupuncturists book up well in advance, to avoid missing the best time slots Re-Book now, you can always re-schedule at a later date
  • check
    Make notes of any changes that may have taken place. Alleviation of pain, pain moving to other areas of the body, or changes in the frequency of the condition
  • Avoid heavy physical activity or working out for a least 24 to 48 hours
